Frequently asked questions
Find answers to common questions about our vehicle, driver, pricing and booking.
What does the USD 160 daily rate include?
The daily rate covers 24 hours with a private Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and a professional driver, including unlimited mileage, fuel, insurance, and the driver’s accommodation and meals. National park fees, entry fees and personal expenses are not included.
Is a driver included with the vehicle?
Yes. Every booking comes with a professional driver who knows Uganda’s roads, destinations and travel conditions, so you can focus on your journey.
Is there a mileage limit?
No. Mileage is unlimited and included in the daily rate.
How do I make a booking?
Send us your travel dates, pickup location and itinerary through the booking form or on WhatsApp. We’ll check availability, confirm the details with you, and a 30% deposit secures your booking.
How much deposit is required?
A 30% deposit secures your booking, and the remaining 70% is due before travel begins. You can pay by bank transfer or by Visa/Mastercard; invoices can be issued in USD, UGX or CHF.
Can I use Helvetic Drive for business or NGO travel?
Yes. We provide transport for meetings, airport transfers and business trips, as well as field visits, project activities and longer assignments for organisations working across Uganda.
Can the vehicle be used for long-distance or multi-day journeys?
Yes. The Land Cruiser Prado is built for Uganda’s roads, from city transfers to long-distance journeys and remote destinations, and the driver’s accommodation and meals are already included.
Can I request an airport transfer?
Yes. Send us your flight details and pickup location with your enquiry. We track reasonable flight delays, and the first 60 minutes of waiting after landing are included.
Can you provide a child seat?
Yes. Appropriate child seats are available free of charge on advance request. Please tell us the number and ages of the children when you send your booking enquiry.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for peak travel periods. For short-notice journeys, send us an enquiry and we’ll check availability.
